From my point of view, I believe a student should get a job in high school. Though it can differ from other people’s perspectives but Getting a job gives us not just economic freedom but something more.

Let me first start with, why getting a job matters. The first thing, a job gives a student experience. It’s not always about the money because we can ask for money from our parents. Experience can not be bought rather it has to be achieved. If a student can even get a part-time job in the relevant field, This does not only give him/her experience or money but also they can easily get into the job market when he/she finishes graduation. Even they don’t have to think about internship problems. It will also teach a student how to do time management. Now time management is one of the most crucial parts of being a human. We need to manage school, family, work-life, leisure time. When a person does not have time management they end up damaging their relationship with their spouse, family, friends.

The next one is personal financing, or budgeting this gives a student to understand about the reality of life in a more sandboxed manner. They don’t have to face a lot of pressure if they mess up. But in reality, if a person messes up their financing they might end up not eating a day or week or months. They even may end up homeless. Also, jobs give an extra boost in confidence, compared to their peers. There’s a saying that freedom comes with costs and that is intangible, we can’t see it but we can feel it. Having a decent amount of money can give a student a huge boost in confidence sometimes excessive earning might end up as a side effect which is overconfidence. It helps a student to be humble towards people. People who earn as a professional or people who are day-to-day earners.

Moreover, it teaches them about the interview, helps them with competing against stress in an interview.

When a student is doing a job, the passive mindset vanishes and it also benefits society.

For example, if a student has a passive mindset they can end up abusing drugs, getting into unnecessary violence, etc.

It will also give that individual to respect the person next to him/her. They will slowly learn about the reality of life and humbleness. How to cope up with stressful situations.

The most important part of doing the job and it’s the next valuable gem that is gained while doing a job is networking. In the previous time, we were bound to traditional networking and it is still around the corner and will be. Even though we have a platform like LinkedIn. The traditional networking system will not fail. Where people get to meet each other find opportunities and benefit themselves and others. If a student decides to actually get into his/her dream job. They might be able to set up a network where they can get recommendations for the job they desired for long when they apply. Even if they don’t get a recommendation, they will have the information about an open position in x/y industry/firm.

In my case, I had to join a firm 1 year back where I had to work part-time initially and later went on full time. After that, I never faced interview stress, learned to manage university and work-life also gave me financial freedom. Again it helped me in understanding what kind of CV/Resume should I give to my employer. And in some cases, my appearance on the web, which is my web portfolio, and my youtube channel helped me get a job without even sitting for an interview.

So, that’s my belief and point of view on why a student should get a job while in high school.
